About Sarah Jane Whitworth Fine Art

I am a British Artist specialising in animal portraiture. I studied Foundation Art at Lincoln College of Art (1993) and Fine Art at Bishop Grosseteste College (2003); my passion for painting starting from a young age,  evolving throughout my adult life. Originally a figurative and portrait painter, my love for wildlife and animal art has developed in more recent years.

I feel that my unique style gives each painting an individual aesthetic quality; subtle use of colour combined with thick brush strokes give each painting an expressive beauty; every one slightly different in style. Influenced by a vast array of figurative and portrait painters, my influences are incorporated into each piece, combined with an individuality all of my very own. My subjects vary from characterful Highland cows to beautifully depicted hares. Some of my work has a bright cartoon-like feel, other pieces are more delicate and sympathetically executed. All of my work demonstrates a passion and understanding of composition and colour.
